Message from the Chairman of the Organization Committee

Similarly to other countries in 2009, Thailand has also been affected by the global economic crisis.  However, as the country has a large agricultural base, the local economy is relatively self sufficient in terms of food supply, which has helped soften the impact somewhat. In addition, unlike some other countries, the country's GDP is not over reliant on exports.

Whereas, some local manufacturing companies that rely entirely on export business might not have survived, some do prevail.

In respect of Saha Group companies that have a significant proportion of export business, these tend to be made up of mostly those supplying necessity items. Hence, as with Saha Group's domestic business, the effects have been relatively mild, due to the fact that the merchandise being sold to the market are in most cases everyday non luxury products.

Furthermore, the country's political climate has improved somewhat since the end of last year, however, it seems there still exists a lack of love and unity among people in general in society.

Therefore, for 2009, "Saha Group Fair" (previously Saha Group Export & Trade Exhibition) will project “Love to All”, and hopefully it will help both elevate and promote the spirit of love to the nation, as well as to the world.

Moreover, we sincerely hope that this 13th Saha Group Fair will benefit our guests, visitors and the society as a whole, and we truly believe that the economy will recover in the near future, if the majority of people share the belief that it will do so.
